1967 Oldsmobile Vista Cruiser — 2026 SEMA HRIA Opening Day Unveil

Built by Squid's Rod Shop in Hickory, North Carolina, for Jane and Larry Worthing, this 1967 Oldsmobile Vista Cruiser is a one-of-a-kind custom build that combines classic Oldsmobile styling with modern engineering, performance, and exceptional craftsmanship.

Selected as a 2026 SEMA Show HRIA Opening Day Unveil vehicle, the Vista Cruiser will make its official debut on Tuesday, November 3, 2026, at the SEMA Show in Las Vegas.

At the heart of the build is a GM 6.6L L8T V8, featuring a Brian Tooley Racing camshaft, HP Tuners CORE ECU, custom multi-port fuel injection, and W-30-inspired Ram-Air induction. Power is delivered through a GM 6L90 six-speed automatic transmission. Custom stainless steel headers and exhaust, complete with electric cutouts, provide the soundtrack.

Underneath, a one-off Roadster Shop REVO chassis provides the foundation for modern handling and performance. Polished Budnik Muroc IV wheels wrapped in Michelin Pilot Sport 4S tires complete the stance.

Extensive custom metal fabrication includes a 1968 Oldsmobile 442-inspired hood bulge, custom-designed roof rack, tucked front and rear bumpers, fabricated filler panels, and a custom front air dam. Additional details include Hurst/Olds-inspired mirrors, custom door handles, and Dapper lighting.

The body is finished in PPG Deltron NXT "Hickory Black Cherry," a custom-mixed color developed specifically for this project. Inside, a custom interior by Hot Rod Interiors by Chuck is complemented by Dakota Digital instrumentation and vehicle controls, Vintage Air climate control, and a host of carefully integrated modern conveniences.

Every detail reflects the vision behind this remarkable build, from its engineering and fabrication to its final fit and finish.

Built to a vision. Crafted in metal. Finished to perfection.
